Well with my tax refund i talked the wife into letting me build another computer for me so she can have my old one and i can upgrade to a faster computer Grin. I have 800 dollars give or take to build just the tower and the OS; plenty of money to build a fast reliable computer. Any suggestions on what yall think i should look into would be great. I know that im atleast going to run 4gb of ram.

st...if you are going to keep playing BF2, stick with XP Pro (or Vista, but XP is more stable with BF2).

nd...I prefer AMD over Intel

rd...spend the extra money for a nice power supply...not the free one that comes with the case!

th...get a good case that has plenty of air-flow (ex. CoolerMaster...)

th...get a motherboard that has good reviews (spend the time and read!)

th...pack it with plenty of RAM

th...consider a flash HD for the OS and a regular HD for the rest (with a high cache 16mb+)

th...AMD and ATI are now the same company...I prefer Nvidia video cards, but the new hardware might work better with an AMD / ATI combo...again read!

th...consider gigabit LAN (it is coming soon)

th...call your Dad for help with setting it all up...
