Are you tired of shooting people in Bad Company 2 but they don't take any damage? So was I. One poster on Gamefaqs (spank_thru101) posted a possible solution to the problem so I decided to test it out. Upon further investigation, this was also something you could edit in previous battlefield games.

This only has a really noticable effect if you have a faster internet connection and regularily see below 100 server pings in the list.

Basically, add these two lines;

SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.0450000
SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 45

to your gamesettings.ini file in the BFBC2 folder.
In gamesettings.ini, add them between the lines;

IntroPlayed=1
[GstPersistence]

In settings.ini, just add it to the end of the list. Save both files.

BEFORE YOU TRY THIS, change the value to your general server ping. For me, when I refresh the list, most servers are 31-45 ping. So, I change the values to .045 and 45 for 45 ping.

Say most of your servers are 73 ping, you'll want to change the values at the end of the previously stated changes to .073 and 73 respectively.

EDIT: Setting it slightly below the server ping makes the hitboxes even more accurate. Setting it much lower makes them in front of the target. Experiment with it however you want.

Apparently the battlefield series tries to compensate for an average of 100ms ping by default and so the hitboxes appear to "lag behind" the actual player model you're seeing in game. This fix changes it so that the models are where the hitboxes actually are by adjusting to your average ping instead.

The reason I had captions for serverlist ping and in-game ping value is because I tried with both options. You can see that the serverlist ping was the right one to choose for the value edit and caused the hitboxes to be entirely more accurate, while the in-game value arguably made them even worse.

Ideally you want the value you change it to the match the server ping of whatever server you're joining. That's why I said take an average if you play across multiple servers of varied pings

To unintelligent people asking WHY NORMAL N THEN HARDCORE?!?Huh

It doesn't matter what settings the server is on. PEOPLE WILL GET ONE SHOT AT THAT RANGE.

Both servers were 45 ping, ~120 latency.

One of the key drivers of social movements is the way a society distributes its wealth.  In recent years, as you know from the LINK Assignment, the distribution of wealth has become more skewed in favor of the wealthy.  At the same time, jobs are being outsourced overseas or displaced by information technology, which has made it harder for people here in the US to find and keep jobs.  Here are the discussion questions:

What effect do you think this has had on the way the American working class lives?

For some it has been devastating (referring to the loss of industry in America) for others it has been a driving force for them to learn new skills in an attempt to keep up with technology so they will continue to be marketable in the work force.

How has it affected people you know?

I was born and raised in the small town of Franklin, VA.  After college (round 1), I got a job at the local paper mill (then Union Camp, soon after International Paper).  After 2 ½ years, IP bought out Union Camp and things started getting shaky.  I then made a move to my present employer.  This September will mark my 11th year at my present job.  Just a couple of months ago, IP decided to close the mill partly because they were bringing a larger mill online in South America.  There are numerous businesses that relied on the mill as well as several hundred people.  I now have several new co-workers that were fortunate enough to get a job with my present employer.  Many of them were 10 to 20 year veterans of the mill (and close to retirement).  Now, they are the ‘new guys’.  Their seniority is gone and in many cases they work for people much younger them.  A couple of them are close friends of mine.  They have talked to me about how hard it is to start over at this stage of life.  They really miss being the ‘go to guys’.  Now they are the green-horns.  I expect to hear about more people losing their homes, businesses closing, etc. in the near future.

Do you think that a social movement based on social class is possible in America?

Absolutely not!  Regardless of the problems with our system, socialism in any form is not the answer.  The answer is for the government to get their hands out of our pockets and allow Americans to breathe.  We also need new leadership that is conservative in nature (to help balance the system to offset the data from the LINK assignment).  The liberal mindset has damaged this country’s ability to continue to be the great industrial nation it once was.  Environmental nutcases and any other extreme groups that want extreme changes to be made are tearing the fabric that holds this country together.  Don't get me wrong, we need to be environmental stewards, but there are reasonable ways to maintain the environment without using the environment to gain political power (which is what many have done...take an objective look at Al Gore).  We need to focus on ways to re-industrialize this country of ours instead of finding ways to nitpick at everything that has anything to do with the environment (we can't even build Nuclear power plants in America...why not???).  If you want to go green and you don’t like big corporations, then stop using ALL of their products.  This includes driving your car, using electricity, natural gas, goods from industrial manufacturing, etc.  Move out into the woods, learn to live off of the land, and THEN you can complain.  Until then, go back into the closet!

If such a movement were possible, who would benefit?

Those who aren’t able to work due to physical or mental disabilities are the only ones who should have long term access to government funds.  This means that there should always be relief for people in uncontrollable situations.  This does not include health care.  The rest should apply their God-given talents and do whatever they can to survive.  Team up with others, use your mind, heart, and soul and apply yourself.  In America, you CAN succeed if you really want it bad enough.  Don't ever let anyone tell you that you CAN'T, because you CAN!!!

Who wouldn’t benefit?

The working class people who the government would be taxing to pay for the socialist programs…

Why wouldn’t they benefit???  People will eventually lose the desire to work if the man next door lives as well as he does through government socialist programs.  In time, the general population will become dependent on the government for everything.  This “cradle to grave” mentality will do nothing but ruin peoples drive to WORK.  I want to be able to reap the benefits of my labor NOT give my income to someone who is capable, but doesn’t work.

Dr. Adrian Rogers said it all much better than I:

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.  What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.  The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, will prove the end of any nation.
You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

~~~ The late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 to 2005 ~~~
What might its ideology be?
An overbearing system of taxation and regulation that will break the backs of hard working Americans.
“Just Say No” to Socialism!
By: Ranger_Sgt_Duke
Date: June 1st, 2010
After studying the quintile chart that is the core of this exercise, I confirmed my thoughts that social justice is nothing other than Socialism.  For reference, according to Wikipedia:
“Social justice is also a concept that some use to describe the movement towards a socially just world. In this context, social justice is based on the concepts of human rights and equality and involves a greater degree of economic egalitarianism through progressive taxation, income redistribution, or even property redistribution.” (Wikipedia, 2010)
When looking at the percentages of people and their income, I see a well balanced financial system in accordance with Capitalism.  In order for capitalism to thrive, there must be a spread in the income spectrum to allow for those who create jobs and those whom hold them.  Capitalism is why The United States of America has grown into the greatest free-market society in the entire history of the world.  No other economy has ever reached the financial heights that have been achieved in USA and no other economy has more to offer a person whom has the desire to succeed.  Let’s take a closer look into this subject matter.
As a staunchly conservative American citizen, I am completely against the idea that I have to give one penny of my hard earned income to any other citizen who is capable of working.  The only people who deserve such redistributed financial support are those whom are physically and/or mentally incapable of taking care of themselves; this vehemently excludes those whom decide to have ten children and claim that they can’t take care of themselves (there is a such thing as birth control and/or celibacy).  When considering what over-taxation and re-distribution of wealth will do to the lower and middle class working American, one must put aside their prejudices, talking points, and anything else that skews their judgment.  Quite simply, it removes the American dream of being able to work hard for what you have and to be able to enjoy the benefits of said achievements.  When one must work and share his or her income with one who chooses to stand in line and ask for ‘cradle to grave’ government handouts, the desire to work will, in time, become diminished or even gone.  If this occurs on the national level, who will there be to tax and redistribute if the majority is standing in line with their hand outstretched asking for something that they do not deserve?  Many people are angry at those whom are rich, at big corporations, big oil, etc.  Those with clarity of thought, wisdom, and reason are thankful for such entities that supply us with much needed goods, services, and yes…employment!  The Russians tried socialism; where are they now within the global economic ranks?  Just say no to socialism!
If you aren’t standing up and feeling energized, then, chances are you are one who expects to be unnecessarily nurtured by your government.  Have you ever stopped to think for one moment who it is that pays for the assistance that is handed out to so many able-bodied Americans?  It doesn’t come from a printing-press; it comes from those whom bleed Red, White, and Blue and from those who proudly wear their “blue collars”.
I updated the forum last night with a new skin and a new member ranking system that is based on the BC2 ranking system.  Each person will move upiin rank every 5 posts until the officer level is reached.  At the officer level your rank will increase every 10 posts.  To reach the top rank (General of the Army), you must post 400 messages (which is 20 above the next lowest one).  I figured this would be an interesting way of keeping track of who the regular users are.  Also, there are 50 levels...
